Welcome to CFC USA 2012 Magnificat Weekend

Ricky Cuenca

These are indeed exciting times for Couples for Christ!

After donning the full armor of God last year, we are now called to PROCLAIM THE GREATNESS OF THE LORD for 2012!

Through the various activities beginning January—from the ON FIRE Conference at the Araneta Coliseum, to the offering of the First Fruits during the first MCG, to the Magnificat Weekend in Baguio City—the Lord only gives us one message, as echoed by Bishop William McGrattan in the qualities of NEW EVANGELIZATION: to have that sense of urgency, to be bold, and to move as one community in proclaiming God’s Word.

We are all missionary disciples of Jesus Christ, and Mary, His mother is our primary model.  In the Annunciation, she never doubted the angel’s proclamation and readily accepted the mission with much anticipation and joy.  When she heard about her cousin Elizabeth being with child, she makes haste in coming to her aid, traveling far despite being pregnant herself.  In the Acts of the Apostles, she remained with the early Christians, encouraging them to be bold, steadfast, and united as well.

As members and leaders in Couples for Christ, we should always be at the forefront of evangelization. One of the ways is to attend our Magnificat Conference this coming June 29-July 1, 2012 in Atlanta, Georgia.  It is my prayer that like Mary, may we be firm and persevering in proclaiming the Gospel.  May we be unflinching in facing our uncertainties, reservations and doubts as we do our mission.  And may we be of one heart and mind in working as one body—the body of Christ.

Your brother in Christ,

Ricky Cuenca
